Designing the Smile of Your Dreams
Our office is proud to offer the Smile Design advantage.
Smile Design is for those who want to drastically change
the appearance of their teeth. In one to two visits,
we can dramatically change the appearance of your smile
with porcelain veneers, all-porcelain restorations (crowns
or bridges) and laser whitening.
When
most people think of Smile Design, they think of the
veneer - a porcelain overlay (about
the thickness
of a baby’s fingernail) that is placed on the front
of individual teeth. Even though they are made of porcelain,
they’re incredibly strong and durable. It is impossible
to tell them apart from regular tooth material and they
conceal undesirable characteristics of your real tooth.
Veneers allow us to completely restore chipped, broken
and stained teeth, and to correct midline spacing, the
condition that causes a gap between the two front teeth.
In
Smile Design, porcelain restorations most often replace
current dental work that has a metal
component.
For example,
there are some crowns that have a metal base. While
this type of crown is economical, it can cause severe
reactions
in those individuals who have a metal allergy. If your
gums are brown, red or purple near a crown that you
already have, you are likely allergic to the metal
interior of
the restoration and your tissue is inflamed in response.
Replacing that metal-based crown with an all-porcelain
one will restore your gum tissue to the pink of health – and,
as a side benefit, give you a smile makeover.
All
porcelain restorations and veneers are a permanent
and beautiful answer for those who
want to put their
best smile forward! If you’ve ever wondered what
the difference might be for you personally; we can show
you what you might look like with perfect teeth with
our SmileVision® process. Ask us about designing
